This store has an impressive array of rods and reels, tackle, fishing and crabbing gear and a variety of bait. Jerry makes and repairs rods and John repairs reels; plus they are "in the know" on the latest catches and baits used for fishing the immediate area. J&J's also has a large selection of T-shirts, sunglasses, wading shoes, belts, etc.; as well as basic supplies, snacks, drinks, ice and a neat little gift shop with cool coastal gifts.
A quaint and clean motel with 6 kitchenette units. It is located right next to J&J, across the street from the beach.
Newly completed cabins just down the road from the RV park with a private beach and fishing pier--so you don't ever need to leave the secluded premises to enjoy a great coastal vacation. Magnolia Beach is a friendly, small coastal town with great beaches where you can wade right out into Lavaca Bay; perfect for swimming, beach combing, fishing and crabbing.
The weather is hot in summer, cool in winter, and just right most of the year! Powderhorn Lake connects with the bay at the Indianola Fishing Pier, where you can pay to fish, or just relax, take in the sights, and eat from their short order menu.
The area is also known for its great birding in all seasons. Most species are here year round, while others are migratory, showing up in the spring and fall. Duck hunting is popular in the winter months.
This is a tight knit community where the locals are very friendly and laid back.
